More than just a place of worship, this project was a continuous search for the unique.
It was an honour to be able to come into a space that is so private, so important, and so intimate.
Being able to represent Italian culture as part of this project made us proud and inspired us to think about the wonderful, rich nature of cultural cross-pollination. This project was a success thanks to the cultural cross-pollination aspect. The studio was truly inspired and tried to bring its expertise to the job. Despite the recurring ornamental motifs taken from Islamic palaces, there is nothing boring about this space. There is the wonder and a bit of mystery in a reflected image. Many memories from the past may be reawakened in the incredibly ornate corridors, the large rooms with cosmic colours, or under the arches. Yet all is quiet. Here, there’s only beauty and silence. There’s nothing to understand. Just wonder and amazement.
